Generic Ultracet

Generic Ultracet or Acetaminophen / Tramadol (generic name) is used as a pain reliever. It is generally used as a short term medication for treating pain. Tramadol is a narcotic type pain reliever and Acetaminophen being less potent pain reliever acts as a catalyst which enhances the effect of tramadol.

How does Ultracet work? Being an analgesic combination, Ultracet works in specified areas of brain and nervous system to decrease pain. Both the generic medications are used in combination for better results. Ultracet can be used for other medical purposes than the ones listed above.

Ultracet Information You are STRICTLY advised not to consume this medication more than recommended by your doctor or medical care provider. An overdose of this medication can be life threatening. The MAXIMUM Ultracet Dosage is 2 tablets at a time and 8 tabs in the whole day. Again this dosage pattern is advised by the doctor depending upon your medical condition. DO NOT use any other nonprescription medication along with this medication, unless advised by your medical care provider. Acetaminophen is present in most of the non-prescribed cold and pain medications. To avoid consuming too much acetaminophen even accidentally, you must read the label information of medicines properly whether or not it contains acetaminophen. You should inform your doctor or medical care provider if you consume more than 3 alcoholic beverages a day. Also, inform your doctor if you ever had liver disease. In such circumstances you may not be able to take medications that contain acetaminophen.

If you have a history of seizures or head injury or any kind of metabolic disorder, you are more likely to experience seizures when you start taking this medication. Consult with your doctor about the hazardous effects of seizures along with this medication.

You are STRICTLY advised not to consume alcohol or any forms of drugs that make you feel sleepy or drowsy. Alcohol and above mentioned drugs might enhance drowsiness when taken in combination with Generic Ultracet. In the above mentioned circumstances, it is advised not to drive or do any such activity which requires you to remain alert.

Ultracet Side Effects

Below listed are some of the serious Ultracet Side Effects, ask for immediate medical attention if you experience the following side effects:-

• Seizure;
• Skin rash
• Difficulty breathing and weak pulse.

You might experience some allergic reactions as a side effect to Ultracet medication. They are:-

• Hives
• Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience the above mentioned allergic reactions. Below listed are some common and less serious Ultracet Side Effects.

• Dizziness and weakness
• Nausea, vomiting, constipation
• Loss of appetite
• Blurred vision
• Flushing (redness, warmth, or tingly feeling)
• Insomnia

Even though they are less serious effects of this medication, you are advised to consult your doctor about it. You can experience side effects other than those listed above. If any of these side effects become bothersome, check with your doctor or medical advisor as soon as possible.

Ultracet is FDA pregnancy category C medication which means this medication can be harmful to unborn baby. If you are pregnant and use this medication, your unborn baby might carry some serious birth defects. STRICTLY consult your doctor about the effects of Ultracet to pregnant women. If you are planning to become pregnant or you become pregnant while on this medication, check with your doctor immediately.
